New tests on electric buses within the ElectriCity collaboration

After the successful tests on ElectriCity's demonstration arena on route 55 and EL16 in Gothenburg, the collaboration is now starting a new test bed for electric buses. The purpose is to accelerate innovation for public transport through tests in real urban traffic environments.
New cooperation electrifies construction sites in western Sweden

In a new ElectriCity project, several big actors are now taking concrete steps to electrify construction sites. With a focus on, among other things, building and construction projects and street maintenance, they will test how electric work machines can work in real environments in Gothenburg. Electrification in the sector is a central part of the adjustment required to achieve important environmental and climate goals.

5G in autonomous shuttles enables important developments

The autonomous shuttles in Drive Sweden project S3, that can be seen on route 56 in Gothenburg, have been updated with 5G technology. This enhances their connection with the so called control towers and marks an important step for a greater introduction of autonomous vehicles in public transport.
Routes 55 and EL16 comes to a stop - but ElectriCity keeps on going

The demonstration arena for route 55 and EL16 comes to an end in December. After five years, the two test routes for electrified bus traffic are ready to pass on the torch to electric buses in regular traffic.
Great results from RIVSILON pilots on IT for public transport

Since 2018 the RIVSILON project has been a part of the ElectriCity collaboration. By using ITxPT specifications a series of pilots and test have been carried out in order for, among other things, plug and play solutions for the IT systems to work, enabling different systems to work together. 150 new electric buses hit the streets of the Gothenburg region

As of December, Västtrafik will introduce about 150 electric buses on 34 routes in Gothenburg, Mölndal and Partille. The scale-up makes western Sweden the largest region in the Nordics when it comes to electric buses and the large introduction of electric buses that the people of Gothenburg are now witnessing is in parts a result of the ElectriCity collaboration's tests on line 55 and EL16.
Gothenburg first out to introduce electric bookmobiles in Sweden

Two new fully electric bookmobiles – the first of its kind in Sweden – are now being introduced in the City of Gothenburg. The two Volvo buses, ordered by the Cultural Affairs Administration, have a playful design inspired by the space, the sea and the forest to attract more people to take part of what the libraries offer. The bus model is one which has been used on the ElectriCity collaboration's demonstration arena route 55.
Route 55 reaches the goal line - with massive introduction of electric buses as a result

In December, Västtrafik introduces about 160 new electric buses for Gothenburg, Mölndal and Partille. In total, around 200 electric buses will be operating in the Gothenburg area. An important part of paving the way for this large introduction of electric buses has been ElectriCity's demonstration arena route 55, which thus ends.
Ericsson – an engine for Lindholmen Science Park's growth

Ericsson's building is situated at the very end of the Lindholmen pier and looks out over the river. The fact that the telecom giant made the decision at the end of the 1990s to establish a location there was a crucial part of Lindholmen Science Park's innovative ecosystem becoming a reality 20 years ago.
